Personal Health & Weight Loss
For over 20 years I have been walking 3 miles nearly every day. Often with 4 pound weights in hand. Now that I’m in my 60’s I have learned that adding strength training to my aerobic exercise is very important. As such, I have recently began a 3-day a week 30 minute nautalus-type add-on routine to my walking. Now I have been doing this for only 3 weeks and yet am getting “antsy” in looking for some weight loss signs. Who out there reading my Blog has any insights they want to share with me to help me remove my “chub” from my stomach? While I don’t want to go overboard, I do want to take off about 15 pounds to get me to my “romance” weight. With a little more work, my Sweetness (wife Trish) will find me irresistable. I welcome your comments in the box below.

Hello Dr Ron,
I can very much relate to your situation. I have purchased and tried many exercise programs and still was not able to get the body I had prior to my major back surgery. After several attempts and failures I have finally found a program that so very easy to fit into any ones busy schedule. Within the first week you can really feel that your muscles have benn worked and yet the program takes only 8 minutes plus 3 minutes warm and three minute cool down. I know it sounds unbelievable but trust me you will fell and see a difference. The creator of this wonderfully amazing program is Jorge Cruise, his website is:

special tip: I went on his site and reviewed the programs and books he has and then went to amazon and was able to purchase several of his books for appro $2 – $5 dollars a piece. What a deal that is.
Make it a GREAT day! We have the power to control our day if we choose to.

Hi Ron,
You know I struggle with this every day of my life. Honestly, the best diet advice and meal plans that I know of are on Dr. Oz and Dr Rozien’s website
http://www.realage.com/homepage.aspx. Also, check out http://www.malibupilates.com. This thing looks cool.

Hello “Young Fella”
In addition to the rest of the suggestions, try only one serving of food or less than you normally would eat.

Hello,
I just wanted to say that I fully agree with Dana, Dr Oz & Dr Rozien give very sound advice. I had mentioned Jorge Cruise’s exercise plans are endorsed by Dr Rozien and Dr Oz.. I strongly believe a major problem for all of us is:
1. Foods have become to processed. Even vegetables and fruit you have to buy expensive organic and still it doesn’t taste as good as when you grow it yourself.
2. We have become to automated. Look in the stores we have cheeses sliced, grated, cubed so we don’t have do a little exercise and do it ourselves.
My husband and I started a small handyman service to assist seniors with small jobs they couldn’t do for themselves or couldn’t afford what some companies wanted to charge. I didn’t even realize as I did the work that I was exercising. I was a size 7 when we started and after a short time I went to a size 3, I’, 5′8″. I was in great shape and felt wonderful just by washing floor, weeding gardens, painting, mowing lawns and so on. Now days people even hired people to pick up poop from their dog. If we go back to doing things ourself we can stay in shape.
